Day 16

So Saturday was fairly uneventful. I slept in which was very nice, and then Jamie and I went to Portobello Road to see the market there. It wasn’t really what I was expecting. I think I like Camden better. But it was cool to see anyways, and now I can say I’ve been there. It was basically just the whole street filled with interesting shops and booths set up selling all kinds of things, from antiques to produce. We walked all the way down Portobello Road and then went and found the closest tube station and took that to Regent’s Park. We lounged in there for an hour or two just reading and relaxing. It was a beautiful day so I worked on my tan a bit. After that we went to find this store called Primark. It’s like WalMart with really cheap stuff. This turned out to be the worst decision we could have possibly made. Primark, you see, is like Wal Mart on Black Friday times 8 MILLION. There must have been thousands of people in that store, and it was a mess. The lines at the checkout counters were hours long, and the lines for dressing rooms were a good hour too. It was MADNESS. I wanted to see if I could find a cheap suitcase, and I found one, but there was no way in hell you could get me to stay in that store any longer. It was insane. So we got out of there pretty quick and headed home. We got dinner at a restaurant called Giraffe and had some yummy burgers, and then we went home. We decided to go out and celebrate my last Saturday so we went over to the Builder’s Arms for a pitcher of Pimm’s and Lemonade, and then we went to the Union to meet the friends that we’ve made over the last few weeks. They’re some interesting Brits, that’s for sure. But that was about it for Saturday. When they rang for last call at 11 most of them decided they wanted to take the party to their halls, but I was definitely not down with that idea, so Katie and Andi and I headed home and the others all went off to continue the party. I feel like some of them got mad at me for not going but I told them I wasn’t stupid, I wasn’t going way far away from home, so that was the end of my night.

Love you guys!
Jaime
